This article will explain how to add Projects to a form and the different display options available to you. Before diving into this topic however, make sure you start by learning how to create new Projects first here.
To add Projects to a form, we’ll be covering a couple topics:
- Active and Available Online Statuses
- Adding or Updating Projects on a Form
Active and Available Online
For a Project to be displayed on your Giving Form, the Project must be set to Active and Available Online. To ensure your Project is Active and Available Online, navigate to the Projects Page. Then select or use the Quick Search to identify the Project you wish to modify.
Here, select the Actions button and then Edit Project.
Now, confirm that the toggle for Available Online and Active are both toggled on.
Adding or Updating Projects on a Form
Now that you have ensured your Project(s) are Active and Available Online, navigate to your Form. In the Builder, scroll down to the section that has a Donation Block for selecting a Project. When you select this block, the settings and options should appear to the right of the form.
The Settings tab on this Donation Block are options to control how the entire block works. Click the Projects tab to locate more specific options for Projects. These will provide a series of options to show Projects on your form.
Be sure to toggle on "Show Project(s) on form."
First, you can choose your display type and Project Selection label.
Display is where you can decide how your Projects are displayed on the form for donors to choose from. Search Box is a standard search field where a donor can type out the name of a Project to see if it’s on the list to choose from. Card displays the Projects on the page with various options for showing images, descriptions, custom gift arrays, or custom amounts as well. The final option, Search Box with Cards when selected, shows the full card for the Project after it has been selected by the donor.
The Project Selection Label gives you the option to rename “Project” to another word you use when describing your Projects to donors like “Funds” or “Programs”. Use the Project Selection Placeholder to add text inside the field to explain your Project choices.
You will also be given options for which Project(s) to select.
- Make all active projects available - This does exactly what it says.
- Include specific project(s) - When selected, you will be prompted to select which project(s) you would like to include. Note that once you select more than one Project, you have the ability to control the order in which they appear on the form (if you choose to display them as options to donors to select from). Also, in order for a Project to be added to a form, you must create the Project first.
- Exclude specific project(s) - When selected, you will be prompted to select which project(s) you would like to exclude. Also, in order for a Project to be excluded from a form, you must create the Project first.
Finally, if you would like a donor's gift to be designated to multiple projects, toggle on "Donors can select multiple projects."
