Control When Costs are Split
Fees for Gifts were always split, regardless of whether the donor covers costs or not. We know that our users like to have options, so to address this, we’re introducing a new setting that lets organizations choose how to split fees: either “Only Split when Donor Covers Costs” (now the default and what you are used to if you are upgrading from RaiseDonors 1.0 or Virtuous Giving) or “Always Split Costs.”
To change these settings, go to Settings > Organization. You'll have the option to choose when to split costs at the bottom of the page!
If you would like to retroactively update past gifts to reflect your new fee split preference and update the costs project associated with your gifts, reach out to customer support!
Test Mode
We've simplified the Test Mode experience by letting you easily copy and paste test credit card information to simulate different payment scenarios. To streamline this, when a form or page is in test mode, you'll now see a new component with pre-filled Stripe test card details. This makes it super easy to choose and test different payment scenarios without any hassle.
Optional Icons for Frequency Tabs
We’re adding a touch of ~*flair*~ to your donation forms with new icons: a heart for one-time gifts and a recurring heart for recurring donations. To enable these, simply go to the frequency settings in the page builder, check the tabs display option, and toggle on the new design feature.
As a bonus, donors will see a fun heart animation when they switch to recurring donations, adding a bit of joy to their giving experience. <333
Enhanced Social Sharing Controls
We’re giving you more control over how your hosted pages appear on social media. With our new "Social Sharing" settings in the page builder, you can now customize the page title, description, and image for platforms like Facebook and Twitter. You’ll also get a live preview to see exactly how your page will look when shared, ensuring your content is presented just the way you want it by both your organization and your donors.
New Gift Notification Subscriptions
Stay instantly updated on donations with our new email notification feature. Now, you can subscribe to receive an email every time a gift is made on a specific form or page. Just head to the page settings, scroll to the confirmation details, and add the email addresses where you’d like to receive notifications. Once saved and published, you’ll receive an email with the donation details and the originating page, keeping you in the loop as contributions roll in.
...And the Rest
As with every release, this latest update also includes a number of other fixes, tweaks, minor modifications, and assorted nudges. Among the various fixes released over the last month:
- We’ve fixed an issue where making the logo in the header wider would cause it to get cut off on the published page, ensuring your logo now displays correctly in its full width.
- We’ve reintroduced the {{GiftDate}} merge tag into the dropdown menu, making it easier for you to personalize Acknowledgement email templates with the gift date.
- We’ve fixed an issue where the frequency checkbox was incorrectly selected by default on the donor’s side, ensuring that the checkbox only appears checked when intended, while still pre-selecting the default frequency option if the donor chooses to check it.
- We’ve resolved an issue where some PayPal transactions were appearing in Virtuous Giving but not in RaiseDonors. Now all transactions should be properly synced!
- We've addressed permission issues, which should now allow proper access to the email builder for pages, premiums, and campaigns.
- URL parameters now work correctly for embed forms, enhancing customization options.
- We eliminated the flicker when redirecting to a different URL during the confirmation step, ensuring a smoother user experience.
- The segment code URL parameter ?sc= now functions as expected, improving tracking and segmentation capabilities.
- We resolved errors some customers experienced when canceling recurring gifts, ensuring a smoother cancellation process.
- We fixed an issue where logos were sometimes cut off in the page header when adjusting the page size.
- We corrected double processing of fees in Virtuous CRM, preventing duplicate charges.
- ACH gifts will now only be sent to CRM after they settle, preventing premature transaction recording.
- Donors can now search projects by name or code, making it easier to find and contribute to specific initiatives.
- We fixed an issue where the net amount token on the thank you page was incorrect, ensuring accurate display of donation amounts.
- We added the ability to set a static label for the project selection search box on donation forms, improving form usability.
- We addressed an issue where WorkOS authentication threw an “invalid redirect URL” error, ensuring seamless login processes.
- Pages set to only accept monthly gifts will no longer process one-time gifts by mistake.
- We ensured that desktop-only content no longer loads in mobile view, improving the mobile user experience.
- We fixed the PayPal toggle in the page editor, allowing users to enable or disable PayPal payments as intended.
