Note: Payout Reconciliation is currently in beta. You must join the beta program to access this feature. See "Joining the Beta" below.
Overview
Payout Reconciliation lets you match your Stripe payouts directly to your gift records in Raise - without switching between Stripe and your donor database. From one dashboard, you can browse all payouts for a date range, drill into the transactions that make up each payout, and verify that every charge has a corresponding gift on record
Joining the Beta
- Go to Settings and find the Beta Programs section.
Locate Payouts Reconciliation Report and enable the toggle.
Once enrolled, the Payouts Reconciliation page will appear in your left-hand navigation.
Understanding Payouts
From the main dashboard, use the sidebar to narrow your results:
- Gateway: If your organization has more than one Stripe gateway connected, select the one you want to view. (If you only have one gateway, it is selected automatically.)
- Date Range: Enter a From and To date, then click Search.
The sidebar also displays a Summary panel showing the total number of payouts and total amount paid across the filtered results.
Reading the Results
The table shows one row per payout with:
| Column | What it Shows |
|---|---|
| Arrival Date | The date Stripe deposited the funds into your bank account |
| Amount | The total payout amount |
| Status | Paid, Pending, or Failed |
| Description | The description from Stripe, if available |
Click View on any row to open the payout detail page.
Payout Detail
The detail page breaks down every transaction included in a single payout. In the Payout Details, find three tabs with even more information: Gift Detail, Project Detail, and Project Summary.
Gift Detail
In the Gift Detail tab, each row shows:
- Match status badge
- Transaction date
- Gross, fee, and net amounts
- Donor amount (with currency badge if the gift was processed in a different currency)
- Donor name (links to the donor record in Raise, when matched)
- Project allocations
- Gift number (links to the gift record in Raise, when matched)
- Stripe payment intent or charge ID
The sidebar shows a financial summary — Gross, Fees, and Net — as well as a Match Status panel showing how many transactions were matched to gift records.
Match Statuses include:
- Matched: A gift record in Raise was found for this Stripe charge and the amounts agree
- Discrepancy: A gift record was found, but the amounts do not match
- Unmatched: No gift record in Raise could be found for this Stripe charge
Project Detail
The Project Detail tab, shows the same transaction-level list, reorganized to show the Project allocation breakdown per row. This is useful when donors split a single gift across multiple Projects.
Project Summary
The Project Summary tab shows an aggregated view rolled up by Project, showing gross total, fees total, and net total per Project across all transactions in the payout. A grand total row appears at the bottom.
Exporting
From the payout detail page, click the Actions button and choose an export format:
- Export Gift Detail CSV: One row per Stripe transaction, matching the Gift Detail tab
- Export Project Detail CSV: One row per project allocation, matching the Project Detail tab
Exports are generated asynchronously. You'll see a confirmation toast when the export is queued, and the file will download automatically once it's ready.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does a payout show "Report not yet available"?
Stripe payouts can take some time to fully process before Raise can pull in the associated transactions. If you see this message, check back in a few minutes.
I have multiple Stripe gateways. Can I reconcile all of them?
Yes - use the Gateway dropdown in the sidebar to switch between your connected Stripe accounts. Each gateway's payouts are reconciled independently.
What does a "Discrepancy" status mean for my records?
It means the charge amount in Stripe and the gift amount recorded in Raise do not match exactly. This can happen with currency conversion, partial refunds, or data entry differences. Review the transaction and the linked gift record to determine the correct value.
Can I share feedback on the beta?
Yes - a feedback button is available in the Beta Programs page (in System Settings) while the beta is active. Your feedback helps us improve the feature before general release.
